August is high season in Italy and the coast will be busier than usual, so please try to book your accommodation as soon as you can. Getting around the Amalfi coast is also tricky during this time: buses and taxis are the only way, and taxi prices can be steep, so planning ahead is suggested.

The “Ferragosto” national holiday is on the 15th of August, and the coastal towns will be busy, so if you’re going to have a holiday around our wedding, we recommend you do it the week after (if you can). As it’s a tourist destination there won’t be much disruption, it’ll just be busier - but it’s something to be aware of if you are anywhere in Italy on this day!

We suggest that you stay in Ravello (or close by) for the wedding celebration. Most hotels require a minimum stay of 3 nights in high season, but you might be able to negotiate yourself out of this. There’s a variety of different options in Ravello, from 5-star boutique hotels through to traditional Italian Airbnb properties. Ravello is a small town and most places are within walking distance. There are plenty of cobbled streets and steps - be aware of this when choosing your shoes, ladies (and gentlemen!).

Here are some hotel options that are close by:

Mario, our wedding planner, provides this comprehensive list with loads of options.

There are also plenty of apartments and Airbnb properties, which are good options if you’d rather be out and about most of the time.

The nearby town of Scala is an alternative destination, just 15 minutes' walk from Ravello. Here you’ll find a wider selection of hotels and apartments, some with cheaper rates.
